Refund / Cancellation Policy
8-hour course: Students are entitled to a 100% refund prior to the start of instruction. If a course is divided between two 4-hour days, students are entitled to a 50% refund if cancellation is made before the start of second 4-hour block.
16-hour OJT course: Students are entitled to a 50% refund if cancellation is made before the second 8 hour block of instruction. If the instruction is divided between four 4-hour sessions, the refund schedule will be 75%, 50%, and 25%.
A DCJS approved security guard training school cannot assess any non-refundable registration fees, cancellation fees, or deposits. All refunds and cancellations must be in writing prior to the start of instruction.

Becoming a Security Officer
To become a security officer and maintain your license, you must complete an 8-hour pre-assignment and 16-hours of on-the-job training. Students must complete an 8-hour in-service annually. Licenses expire every two years with a $25 fee payable to NYS-DOS. Some employers may insist on a fireguard license. We recommend completing the fireguard course while waiting for your security license to be processed. After successful cpmpletion of your 8hr course and before you complete the 16hr course, you can get fingerprinted and apply for your security license.

Director of Operations, Aldwin Wilson has over 30 years of experience. Mr Wilson has managed leading security companies and served as an armed officer, peace officer, site and field supervisor, gun custodian, NYS DCJS-certified instructor, NYS Office of Homeland Security instructor, Train-The-Trainer supervisor, fire alarm systems supervisor, and a certified Fire Safety Director. Mr. Wilson now operates security guard schools and conducts in-house annual training for companies.
